Hi everyone,
My name is Ricky Tew and this is my story. I was born in North Carolina and raised by my mom and dad, along with my seven siblings. Until we became adults, our mom and dad always made sure we attended church regularly. As a teenager, one night during a revival at my mother’s home church I asked Jesus to come into my heart, and I accepted Him as my personal Savior. From that day on, I have still never been perfect, but accepting Jesus into my life changed my life forever. I love helping people and serving the Lord through good works, but I also find myself making mistakes by thinking, feeling, saying, or doing things
sometimes that are not pleasing to God. Therefore, I repent of my bad works and remind myself that salvation is not of our works, no matter how good or how bad our works may be; salvation is only by the grace of God. Isn’t God amazing to give us salvation through grace, knowing we can only be perfect through Him.
I sing and play all kinds of music from bluegrass, classic country, classic rock and roll, blues, southern rock, and so forth, in order to bless people, as long as the music is not offensive to God. I personally really enjoy playing and singing different types and styles of music too. However to be perfectly clear, my favorite music to sing and share with others is gospel music. Other types of music can minister to one’s emotions but only gospel music can minister to one’s soul. I have a fervent heart for the Lord, and I love to sing about Jesus and share His goodness and His plan of salvation with people through song.
